washing
Use a nonslip mat in the bath so that the dog feels secure.
Dogs have a slightly higher body temperature than us -so make sure the water is not cold when you wash it. Use the same temperature as you would use for a baby – not your average hot shower.
Important note – never store diluted products until the next time you are going to wash the dog. Once you dilute the shampoo/conditioner you also dilute the preservatives and you can have bacterias growing in the bottle. It’s a nasty type of bacterias called pseudomonas aeruginosa and it can cause severe skin infections and even sepsis if the dog’s immune system is weak.
Once the dog is washed – rinse out the dilution bottle and let it air dry without a cap. The bacteria thrive in dark, moist areas that have a lack.
